Phew! long day Just time for a breather and off to a quiz night. Spent the morning helping at a Cub road safety badge day and the afternoon with Denise and Jake.....................he's 6 months today, time just flies.

Just back from quiz evening. Had good fun. Jake behaved beautifully and although we didnt come first we did pretty well and the evening made some much needed funds for the 23rd.

Late again. Story of my life this week! Just got back from girls night out. We went to ASK and had some fab pastas (with a half price voucher of course!!!) and a good gossip. Must get to bed soon as another long day tomorrow.

Another busy day at work, went by really fast though. We had our work "Christmas" dinner tonight. I booked a table at Meze Meze and they all loved it. Got something right for once!!!

Started the day with a swim....................I'm getting worried, thats three days in a row! Breakfast with a couple of friends and my manicure with Alex. Quietish day at work and late night. Effat gets her results from the hospital so good luck Effat, hope the results are good. Oh and well done Sadie for passing your exam!

Started the day with a gym session...............again!!! And surprise surprise............. a visit to Starbucks. Spent the afternoon making my Sketch Challenge CJ and creating my page.

We took some of the Cubs swimming this evening to practice for the swimming gala.

Busy day for a Monday. Went to the gym and actually did some gym work for the first time since before Christmas. Had to do all the shopping for Cubs and spent the afternoon preparing and part cooking food and activities for the evening.

We ran a Chinese evening as it was Chinese New Year............Gung Hay Fat Choy!!! It was a good evening. We cooked the Cubs sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice and they cooked prawn crackers and then they ate it with chopsticks. A fun evening which we rounded off with a well deserved trip to the pub!!!

I meant to take a photo of the chinese as my PAD but completely forgot so had to take it in the pub instead!

A very lazy Sunday! I intended to do a lot...............but didn't. I had a jacuzzi and went to Starbucks for a coffee and a gossip, had a doze and had a chat with Andy. Why do I always end up saying yes when I want to say no!!!!! Intended to do my CJ but didn't even touch it which means a rush tomorrow. On the whole an uneventful day.

Oh what a day!!! Spent the day at Hendon Air Museum with about 60 Cub Scouts. Planes don't float my boat anyway, but now I dont have a pack I felt totally superfluous!!! We did have a good laugh in the pub afterwards though!

Played catch up all day at work after our heavy day yesterday.

Had a lovely evening with Denise, Steve and baby Jake. I can't believe he's 6 months old next Saturday!!!

An absolutely manic day at work, no sooner did I pick the phone up than the other line would start ringing. I never did catch up!!!!

Girls night out tonight as they're busy tomorrow so we decided to go Turkish with our next 2 for 1 voucher. I know............food again!!! And it was a gutbuster!

Had lunch with my friend John today. We went to the Vietnamese cafe and had my favourite summer rolls and a lovely chicken noodle dish with chilli and lemongrass. This is where I took my Photo a day. This gorgeous rose was on our table. Other than that a normal, long afternoon at work.

It was a beautiful morning so we went for a drive into Hertfordshire to see if the snowdrops were out in Benington. We found a few very sleepy snowdrops in the churchyard but had to hunt for them. In a couple of weeks they will be a glorious carpet. Had a pub lunch before driving back home.

Fairly average Monday. Gym, coffee in Starbucks, housework and Cubs. The only difference was taking Cubs swimming. We've got the swimming gala coming up in March so we needed to see who could swim.

Went with Sonia to a new scrapbooking crop in Welwyn Garden City today run by Sue from Craftystash. Claire Wheatley did a couple of fab classes. A few other familiar faces were there which was nice and got to know some new scrappers. Will definitely go again and it's a different weekend to Scrapmates so they don't clash!

Went into town with my friends this morning and bought a M&S £10 dinner which was very good. Spent the rest of the day preparing for the crop tomorrow and scanning my Father in law's old photo's into my computer to print for the crop. I found some fab pics.

Very quiet morning at work so was allowed to finish wonderfully early! Went for a manicure and a gossip with Alex. Hopefully going to Prezzo's tonight............yes I know........all i do is eat!!!! I love my food, especially if I don't have to cook it. Here is a sample of Alex's handywork

Went to the quiz evening that wasn't tonight. Even though all the notice boards were still up, they've called it off for the time being. You'd think they could have told you!!!

Wow that was a long day. I got to work at 8am and left at 8pm!!!! It was a nice day though, we had some of our favourite patients in.

What I always dread...............a call asking me to go into work. My job share Elaine was ill! I had all sorts of things planned for today and I've got to do her shift tomorrow which means a 12 hour day................whinge over lol.

Had a meeting this evening to plan a district cub camp in the summer. The usual crowd but we had a good evening and got a lot of planning done.

Photo a day ended being a bit rushed at the last minute, had intended a stroll, with camera, around Trent Park this morning but that will have to be another day!! My hyacinths have bloomed, very prettily I might add!

Started the day with a swim and jacuzzi at the gym. Had lunch with Andy after a panic visit to Southbury Pool to make sure we were still having a swimming gala!!! All was well so we could enjoy lunch.

A very lazy day today. Went to the gym and relaxed in the jacuzzi then went to Starbucks. Fell asleep after lunch (obviously can't take these late nights any more!) when I was supposed to be taking hubby to buy a new suit (his Christmas present) and spent the evening talking on the computer mostly to my friend Laura (when my wretched connection worked.........I so don't recommend t mobile broadband!!!)

District scout leaders social last night so was very late in. The hall was packed when we got there, we went to the pub first a group of us. It was quite a good evening, a bit too much karaoke and not enough dancing but good to see people.

The social finished fairly early so we went to another pub! This was the best bit of the evening as there was a very good band playing "The Runaways"

Had to include this photo of Ross who I've known since he was a young scout. He was one of my cub helpers and then a leader. One of these certificates is his 5 year award and the other is an award for outstanding acheivment.

Fridays are good. I finish work early (not as early as I should finish mind) and it's my night out with the girls. We've been inundated with vouchers for 2 for 1 offers, half price offers and free bottle of wine offers (that'll be my night not to drive). tonight is the Chef and Brewer so some good pub grub.

I found this little fella in the pub we went to. We couldn't work out what he might have been used for but he's rather cute.

Yay.....................over a week now. Thats a first!!!

This is a photo of my friend Jake, named years before my grandson was named! He is the one who gets cuddled when I'm sad or lonely.........................and he doesnt answer back!

I quite like Wednesday's. I don't start work 'til 12pm and work through until about 8pm. I have my nails manicured every Wednesday morning which is my weekly treat.

My photo a day is a strange one today but this little gadget is my saviour......................my backstretcher!!! Another resolution is to use it regularly instead of getting it out just when I need it.

Pretty normal Tuesday. Trip to the gym, a bit of housework..............but not too much.

Steve and Den brought Jake to see me this evening and we went to pig out at Pizza Hut as I'd received a 50% off voucher. Of course my photo today is of my gorgeous Jake. He had a lovely time in the Jumperoo I gave him for Christmas.

A very boring (yawn) day today!!! I had to work which I rarely do on a Monday and had to rush straight to cubs after work. Neither good for photos, so a very boring, manufactured out of desperation photo today.

Had a hilarious carvery lunch with friends today. For someone who rarely takes photos of people I'm not doing badly so far.....................and still up to date!!!!

Scrapmates (freezing) Megacrop took place today.................boy it was cold!!! But we still managed to enjoy some fab classes from an absent Alison Doherty, Debbie Jewell, Shimelle and our own Ann Freeman. My photo for today is a not very good one of Shimelle but hey this is about memories as well as photography. I will get better at taking portraits!!!!

Just got in from a fun evening. Our district cub leaders Christmas meal. We're lucky in our district, we all get on really well. I really like this picture I took of Bex but had to include one of my group of friends too (or they'll never speak to me again!!!!)

New Years Resolutions

I thought this would be a good time to start blogging. I want to take part in A Photo a Day for a year 2009 and made a start today............and thats a first............I've actually started a challenge on the right day. Here is my photo for New Years Day. We spent the day at Bluewater and this shot was taken in the Winter Wonderland.

Another first is actually uploading a picture to my blog.

Other resolutions are :- 1) as ever - to lose weight. I lost half a stone before Christmas and hope to lose another half a stone (plus anything I put on over Christmas), 2) to do more scrapping. I've joined 2 new CJ's so hopefully that will help me to find my mojo, and 3) to try and keep this blog up to date, even if i can't blog every day, and upload my days photo.
